It's hard to pinpoint a moment where I decided that I was going to devote my life to a creative pursuit. Age 8, maybe? Seems about right. I drew a picture of a pirate ship in my third grade art class and it was a total hit. It's amazing how a few kind words and encouragement from your peers and teachers can propel an entire future.

Fast forward: I went on to pursue a higher education in illustration (seemed appropriate) in 2006 at College for Creative Studies. While studying to obtain my BFA, I met a close group of friends who changed my life and my perspective on hard work. I can't thank them enough for encouraging me to work hard and follow my dreams. I even met my crazy talented husband Cody there. These days, you can find me in west Michigan fixing up my 100+ year old home.

I'm a freelance calligrapher/letterer who also designs typefaces and teaches. My services are highly specialized, which means when you hire me to illustrate type for you, you're hiring someone who devotes their profession to just that; someone who takes pride in the small details of each letter and knows how to really evoke emotion with word aesthetic. Because I freelance, I happily get to work with a wide variety of clients ranging from commercial to editorial. A few of my clients include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Google, Entertainment Weekly, Disney, Weight Watchers, Nike, Martha Stewart, West Elm, Tiffany & Co., Cole Haan, Target, Bush's Best, Tiny Prints, Ford, The Everygirl, Walter Foster, Headline Publishing and many more.
