Class Size: 10-20 Students

This full-day course explores the basics of hand lettering from the ground up. You'll learn about the hand lettering tools I use on a daily basis, how to construct letterforms, the basics of composition and design, and a brief history of the craft.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

After completing this course, students are expected to be able to:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of lettering materials
  • Show confidence with brush pressure and release techniques along with the basics of illustrating letters with pencil, paper, and pen
  • Demonstrate use of visual hierarchies in message building within a composition

 

Each student will be provided a introductory lettering kit curated by Molly.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS (NOT NECESSARY):

  • Additional calligraphy or lettering supplies (if you have any nibs, ink, brushes, or paper at home you want to try out or have a question about)
