The ABC’s decision to host its second National Forum on migration inevitably sparked complex discussions regarding the representation of diverse voices.
Conrad Gillard, representing Down Under Reform, was among those invited to speak at the event on Monday, contributing to the panel’s discussions.
This year, Gillard gained media attention after starting a petition that collected nearly 30,000 signatures, calling for the annual immigration rate to be reduced to zero until median house prices in all major cities drop to less than five times the median annual income. During the forum, he expressed his housing-related concerns, stating that although he supported One Nation’s migration policy, he felt it could have been more thorough.
Gillard manages a Facebook page for Down Under Reform, which has attracted 7,000 followers and features provocative opinions beyond housing issues. He often shares content addressing what he perceives as threats posed by Muslims and other related topics.
